Chicory Frech Pattiserie - Menteng
I've been wanting to visit this place for quite a while (well..I always have a thing for patisserie). It wasn't that hard to find this particular shop because the place is quite eye catching and there was only one shop at that entire area. But the problem is their business hours. Chicory only open from Monday - Saturday from 8am - 6pm. Wheww...can you imagine how hard it is for a work ant like me to find a time and get here. But nonetheless, with my passion for food, I finally able to reach this place on last Saturday noon.
When I first entered the place, I was surprised on how small the dining place was. It was literally so small, it can only fit less than 20 people. And the choice of the food was very limited, not to mention taking a picture on the food displayed was strictly prohibited *Phew...talking about privacy*. But regardless, this is a very good place to chill and hang out with your close friends and families if intimacy and peaceful place are what you are looking for.
Pricing wise, I can say that the food's price here are a little above average, but looking at the quantity available, I can say that these are all made with high quality ingredients and created with delicacy and passion.
So anyway, in this rare opportunity, I ordered one of the 'Quiche' (IDR 60,000). 'Lemon meringue' (IDR 25,000), and a flat white coffee

There are different kinds of quiche on display cabinet depending on the filling. Mine was with red capsicum, eggplant, and mushroom. It was served with thin slices of ham (I kinda forget the name of the ham slices). When I took my first bite, I was surprised on how the salty taste of the ham accompanied the taste of the quiche. It's just Perfecto!. To be honest, I never though quiche can be eaten this way..haha..definetly a new experience for me.
The Lemon Meringue, was served with powder sugar on the edge, I can't really taste the different with or without the sugar, my guess was it was just for presentation purpose. Even though, I am not a big fan of lemon meringue but I can still taste that this one is made of a high quality ingredients.
