Bagels Bagels - SCBD (Closed, new branch at Plaza Senayan Food Court area)

For my very first time, I am going to write a review about the soon to be famous “bagels bagels”
For most Indonesians, Bagels may not be our first choice for a heavy meal, since we adore rice a lot more than bread. But hey, it’s really not a bad idea to have something new once in a while! And for some of you who is bored with ordinary foods and want to try something new, I highly recommended Bagel Bagel!
The one I tried is conveniently located in SCBD Fairground (For those who doesn’t know or not aware of Fairground, It’s exactly across the “Energy building”). For those who lives nearer to south of Jakarta, they also have another branch in Kemang (Jl. Benda Raya No.14D)
Environment and Ambience
Although the place is not that fancy, Bagel Bagel offers a very cozy place to relax and laid back. I went there in the cloudy afternoon, but the place is still quite bright, thanks to the big windows on the side of the restaurants. The staffs are also friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Once you step into the restaurants, you can see different type of bagels offered on the display window, which make it a lot easier to visualize those tasty bagels!
Food and Drinks
During my very first visit to the store. I to ordered the infamous Philly steak Bagels with “everything” bagels (it’s actually a unique way to name bagels which has different kind of seeds on top of the bun) (IDR 55,000), while my friend ordered a Smoked ham with cheese with sesame seeds bagels (IDR 55,000). I tried both bagels and was very happy to announce that both taste superb! One of the best food you can get nowadays at such price in SCBD area! Bagel’s texture originally is a little bit too hard for most Asians, but for this one, I think they’ve modified the dough so as to suit our taste, and the result is an “asian” bagels which comes perfect with just anything inside!
Besides the savory bagels, they also serve sweet bagels for those who have sweet-tooth. And of course I will definitely come back to try them!
In addition to the bagels, they also have chips which can be combined in a combo for selected items. Due to my curiosity, I decided to order 1 serve of the chips as well. The chips were served with black pepper which was a good combo. Unfortunately, it came out a bit oily and wet which made the crispy texture disappeared.
For the drink, we tried the ice lemon tea, which was quite good, because they actually squished the real lemon into the tea.
Conclusion : Come and try them yourself!
